Hi. My sister is a strong woman. She has been working in the grocery store business, for 8 years. She is a hard worker, and she began working at Shop Rite about 4 years ago. She started out as a
cashier and worked her way up, as she always does". She left her
last job because of a move/. They loved her there and her light brightened up the whole store?. But things changed and I feel bad about it, but we had to move, so her and her friend got a job at Shop Rite because it was close and she didn't have a car,. She didn't really want to work there, and I told her it would be okay;. Turns out she was right,. She started out as a
cashier and pretty soon, she was offered a position in the training
management program|. She was so excited!!!!! She went to the seminars at Wakefield and got new clothes, and was so exited and happy!!! Then one day, out of nowhere, she saw some guy override a transaction on the front end'. She didn't know he could do that, or he wasn't supposed to do it.... well at any rate, I wasn't there, but she questioned why he did that... and well, it turned out it was the worst decision she ever made... and no one should have to regret something FOREVER. It turns out that the guy she questioned is a "favorite" of the owners of the store. And she was like "Oh sorry, I just didn't think he could do that"... and they were like "DON'T ever question him again, understand?!" and again, as always, she said "Sorry", and then, in private, away from the owners, he was like "I assure you, I'm going to make it my JOB to either get you fired or make your life here miserable". This has been going on for like a year. And at first, he was doing *** stuff, like talking behind her back, and getting his "girlfriend" to be mean and whatnot... but it just got out of hand... like he started to exclude her from stuff... and he got other people on his side with lies and
ridiculousness... and like one day as she was walking in the store everyone was huddled together for a picture they had taken just as she was walking in the store- and i know it sounds dumb and like she is being oversensitive, but DAY IN AND DAY out they ostracize her, leave her out, spread rumors, give her dirty looks, and hurt her feelings really bad. She kept a stiff upper lip for the longest time, and wore a smile through it all, but now the owners are training others and letting others take classes and she is just left out. And it's torturing her... and I KNOW you are all going to say "she should just find another job"... and well, eventually, i guess she will, but, right now? Her self esteem is in the toilet. I mean she's so depressed and down on herself. It's SO SAD!!!!!!!! The customers LOVE her and so do half of the people who work there, but the other half have her so hurt, she's lost spirit... and just working for a paycheck, and like I said... no one can go on a job interview when they don't feel good about themselves. And she makes just enough money to get by... I think they want her to quit, but she doesn't want that... Anyway, thanks to anyone who actually stopped and took the time to hear my little story:) If anyone out there has any logical win-win solutions out there I would totally and greatly appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!
